RideSafe was built because generic CPR classes don't prepare you for what actually happens around horses.

RideSafe was founded by Shasta Vickers, a certified CPR and First Aid instructor and active equestrian based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Shasta has spent years in the equestrian community and recognized a critical gap: when something goes wrong at the barn, most people freeze — or panic.
Generic CPR classes teach you to respond to emergencies in offices and homes. They don't teach you what to do when a rider is down in an arena 20 minutes from the nearest hospital, or when a horse has kicked someone and you're the only person there. They don't teach you how to call 911 when you're on a trail with no address, how to approach an injured rider with a scared horse nearby, when to move someone and when not to — or how to stay calm enough to actually help.
RideSafe fills that gap. Our online courses bring equestrian-specific preparedness training to riders everywhere in the US. For California facilities, Shasta also offers in-person CPR clinics and on-site barn safety evaluations. RideSafe operates under Golden State Health and Safety Solutions.
EMS takes 12–20 minutes to reach a rural barn. Brain damage begins in 4–6 minutes after cardiac arrest. The gap between those two numbers is where training saves lives. RideSafe exists to close that gap — for every rider, every barn staff member, and every equestrian facility in the country.
RideSafe online courses are educational preparedness training only. They do not provide AHA or Red Cross CPR/AED certification. For official certification, please book an in-person clinic. Online courses are designed to complement, not replace, hands-on certified training.
RideSafe operates under Golden State Health and Safety Solutions, a California-based health and safety consulting company. In-person CPR instruction is provided by an AHA-certified CPR instructor and Red Cross-certified CPR, first aid & AED instructor. RideSafe carries full general liability and errors & omissions insurance.
