One curriculum. Three formats. Whether you take it online, in person, or by audio, the RideSafe course covers the same 8 modules built specifically for horse people.
Standard courses are built for offices, schools, and gyms. Barns are different.
Generic training says don't move the patient. A downed rider near a panicked horse may need to be moved immediately. You need to know when the risk of staying outweighs the risk of moving.
A kick can cause internal bleeding with no visible wound. Generic first aid doesn't teach you how to recognize that or what to do while waiting 20 minutes for EMS.
In many equestrian areas, EMS is 15 to 30 minutes away. The 4-minute window for cardiac arrest doesn't wait. You need to know what to do for the full time before help arrives.
Heat illness at summer shows, anaphylaxis from stings, a rider dragged by a stirrup. Scenarios that don't exist in an office or gym, and that generic training doesn't prepare you for.
Same curriculum, different formats. Choose what works for your schedule and your barn.
